Sarah Covey, M.D.
Dr. Sarah Covey, MD is a full-time comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract treatment. Dr. Covey completed her Ophthalmology residency at the highly esteemed program at Louisiana State University after completing her Medical School training and internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She has written and published papers and given presentations on topics ranging from posterior vitreous detachments to glaucoma testing and is delighted to accept and treat patients with a variety of ocular diseases.
After completing her training at LSU she is well versed in using a variety of intraocular lenses for cataract surgery and is personally committed to ensuring her patients receive individualized treatment plans to best meet their vision needs whether it be through cataract or presbyopia-correcting surgeries. She has a special interest in cataract surgery and graduated from residency with the highest surgical numbers in her graduating class, and even more impressively, she graduated having achieved the highest cataract surgery numbers in the history of her residency program.
She is fluent in Spanish and has a special interest in medical missions both at home and abroad. She has participated in multiple mission trips over the past decade to Spanish speaking countries, has worked in free health clinics for low-income Spanish speaking patients, and most recently traveled to Guatemala in the fall of 2016 to restore sight to blind patients in rural Guatemala through small incision cataract surgeries and pterygium surgeries. Despite her avid interest in traveling the world for both work and pleasure, she is thrilled to again call Arkansas home and begin serving the patients in the Northwest Arkansas areas.
